The Botanical Garden Hamburg (HBG) houses one of the largest Amorphophallus collections worldwide. Large parts of this collection are issued from the former research collection of Wilbert Hetterscheid, the well known "Amorphophallus-Guru", who himself is a big fan of Amorphophallus hybrids! ...he really loves them!!!

By the way, I am a doctorate student of the Hamburg University, section Biodiversity, Evolution and Ecology of Plants trying to establish a phylogeny based on molecular markers of this fascinating genus. Looks not too bad so far. More information about this topic will follow...

The smell of spring...

What's new?

After a long hibernation time I intend to make some updates now and in the new future.

First step:

The first pulchellus x myosuroides seedling has flowered!

A few selected plants will be released as cultivars.
